I am planning to write this Spring a critical review on where we stand relative to the bioavailability of organic xenobiotics in soils, and I am wondering whether information in this respect has been incorporated into regulatory standards in various countries around the world. I know that, in a number of countries, like Sweden, only the total amount of organic xenobiotics present in soils is taken into account, not just the fraction that might conceivably be bioavailable... I wonder if it is the same in most countries... If you know for sure what the situation is in your country, I would appreciate it greatly if you could let me know. Any suitable reference that I can cite would also be greatly appreciated...
