I need to retrieve the maximum absolute value of deformation/displacement in y-direction(Uy max) from the solution using *GET command and store it as a parameter. Any suggestions related to this query would be of great help. Thanks in advance.
Use *GET command. A script snippet as an example would be as follows:
! After solution
*GET,dis,NODE,nr,U,X
where
-dis is the name of parameter you want to give to the x displacement
-nr is the node number whose displacement you want to retrieve as data
after doing this minimise your ANSYS and make a separate .txt file and there write the following code snippets
*CFOPEN,'results','txt'
*VWRITE,dis
(F8.4)
*CFCLOS
save this notepad file as a filename eg outfile.txt in the root folder which is by default C:\Users\PC-name.
Now come to the main ANSYS command prompt and type \INPUT,outfile,txt. ANSYS will now input the text file outfile and generate the results file called results in txt format in your root folder which is by default C:\Users\PC-name.
