It is the non-selective extraction for multiresidue analysis with minimum cleanup and need selective detection of MS/MS. For UV, you need more cleanup such as SPE or Liquid/liquid extraction.

As I see it you should have NO problem using the same QuChERS technique for LC-UVD as LC-MS/MS. The opposite may be a problem as MS requires volatile buffers in order to prevent MS detector fouling.

However, in your 'validation of this analytical method' you will have to demonstrate that the QuChERS buffers do not interfere (spectrophotometrically) with your molecule of interest. Specificity as listed in ICH Q2(r1).

All you have to do is to test it if itworks for you.

I search some recent articles and they claim that LC-UVD detection may be interfered by Quechers extraction and clean up, they prefer a bit more strong clean up like Liquid-Liquid partitioning or SPE, SPME as Narong Chamkasem mention herewith. There are some govt restrictions regarding the sample preparation. But, in case of tandem MS there is less s/n than single UV detector.

If you have more analytes in the sample, it will be more complicated than a single analyte for Quechers extraction. I need to know the analyte name, before I can further help you.

I use recommended dose and 2x recommended doses spraying of flubendiamide 20 WG in the greenhouse experiment and now analysis of residue and metabolite by both LC-UVD (for spiked pesticide analysis) and LC-MS/MS (for metabolite analysis). Now I like to know the Quechers extracted sample can be used in both instruments?
