Is plasmid pVec8-GFP Gateway cloning compatible?

I will be using Gateway Cloning technology to clone a gene into my plant. I found two separate protocols, one which uses pVec 8 which appears to be useful for me since it has a hygromycin resistant gene, GFP and a strong promoter. On the other hand I could use the Gateway cloning method and any of their gateway compatible vectors to clone into my plant.

Anyone who can shed light on this?
