The thing that confuses me is there are 2 compounds called phosphoethanolamine . The one having P group in second carbon (C-P bound) http://www.chemspider.com/Chemical-Structure.129517.html
And another having phosphoryl group on hydroxy end

Second one seems to be right one to me since it plays role on lipid biosynthesis.
Any insights on the matter?
Hi, the compound shown at chemispider.com is as far as I know not referred to as Phosphoethanolamine (http://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/summary/summary.cgi?cid=1015&loc=ec_rcs) but as 1-amino-2-hydroxyethane phosphonic acid (http://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/summary/summary.cgi?cid=146852#x281).
Hi Claudiu, we have ordered and used the second one which is refered as O-Phosphorylethanolamine in Sigma for THLE-2 growth medium. In ATCC it is refered as Phosphoethanolamine (link below). Cells are growing without any problem .
