Has anyone used Human p-cresol ELISA? Our laboratory has limited access to GC-MS and HPLC instruments and is looking for alternative assays to determine p-cresol in serum. Anyone with an experience in commercial p-cresol ELISA is welcome to share their opnion/experience.

These, at about 30 % deviation between ELISA assay and the exact mass spectrometric methods represent a significant unreliability of the formed method from the perspective of the chemometrics.

Bojidarka B. Ivanova Thank you, I figured as much that Elisa specifically would not be accurate for small organic compounds but more sensitive for complex, large proteins/ macromolecules.
Thank you Bruce Neagle but the colorimetric method is of low specificity and semi-quantitive at best. If you have an alternative experience to that kindly share.
Bruce Neagle some companies offer it like MyBioSource, ELK bioteck, Arp1 etc. Not sure its results are publishable though. Thank you.
Try them. Maybe you can get a 'free' package for trial use. Validation as per ICH Q2 including LOQ requires tens of ELiSA tubes.
