In many research-paper i have seen written Model Predictive control(MPC) is an alternative to Field Oriented Control(FOC) and Direct Torque Control(DTC) while in some papers i have seen written MPC and FOC altogether. So my question is whether MPC a different technique or technique that modifies FOC method? Further, i would highly appreciate if someone from motor control domain shed light on both control strategies
