I am looking to use meta-ethnography and meta-analysis in qualitative health studies, but am doing quantitative studies as well, and am wondering if it would be useful for both.
Glynis Freeman, researchers use meta-ethnography to synthesize qualitative studies and gain an understanding of a particular phenomenon. A meta-ethnography is not appropriate for mixing qualitative and quantitative studies.
For studies that combine both qualitative and quantitative reviews, you would want to use an integrative review or a mixed-methods review approach.
