A rather cod question I realise, but I've revisited some texts on postnationalism - for a paper I'm tidying up - and it has got me wondering what people really think about this. Whether I'm missing something?! I'm thinking in particular in reference to Eliot's (1948) consideration of the tension between diversity and unity and the need for that tension to be held in constant fraught equilibrium. That is at least my perhaps rather condensed summation of the work.
