Hello everyone,
I am currently conducting an undergraduate thesis on the unique challenges faced by Middle Eastern LGBT individuals due to their cultural background (often includes traditional attitudes for "gender roles" and religious beliefs that condemn homosexuality). I wanted to include a comparison of internalized homophobia and disclosure of sexuality in White individuals vs Middle Eastern individuals. Is such a comparison unethical and or inappropriate? That is, I don't want to be confining anyone in categories; however, I think that revealing a difference in the groups can provide scientists and practitioners an incentive to modify their models (based on majority, White populations) to meet the unique needs of Middle Easterns as well.
Please let me know what you think :) Thanks so much!
