This question can be asked for all mankind, and we can say that knowledge is always growing and at a higher speed with this world of communication.
By cons for an intellectual or scientific, the knowledge level can never remain constant, it can only increase or decrease. An individual must continue certain activities: thinking, reading, research, bibliography, followed news, update, collaboration, cooperation, etc..

Science begins tehere, where you stay at the edge of the current knowledge and try to do next step toward further knowledge or better understanding. Thus its development seems be unpredictable. But there are many institutions provideing the right course: reveiwers, thesis advisors, etc.

More radically, knowledge evolves in a contrary sense (arrow) as entropy. Knowledge is one and the same thing as life. We humans believe that life, i.e. Knowledge has a goal. That is only our own (little) concern. The truth is that, in spite of the knowledge networks and procedures (...) knowledge as a whole is non-teleological. That piece of uncertainty and randomness is what makes up knowing such a passionating endeavor.
The knowledge will increase, it seems to grow exponentially. But the real problem is not the increase, the central point is, is this new knowledge aware and applied to the benefit of mankind. And entropy shows a kind of "uniform" distribution, I´m not sure, that future knowledge will be equally distributed.
Good point dear Hanno. Agree with you. Whereas the frontline of research can and will grow exponentially the real problem is that on the base of society it does not so much, not as steadily or fast. There the pace is much slower. That tension will be in the mediate future a most serious challenge for mankind and democracy.
In fact the situation is so serious that, truly, the distance and tension between frontline knowledge and the base of society is hyperbolic, instead of exponential.
I think that the knowledge is correlated with the life, so it must evolves.
It's true, time passes and the humanity discovers news, corrects some theories, reveals new realties, etc...
