here I gave a reply that I would like to repeat (and update where needed):
I see numerous disturbing issues when looking at this journal “International Journal For Multidisciplinary Research” (https://www.ijfmr.com ):
-In the meantime, listed in the updated version of the stand-alone version of the Beall’s list https://beallslist.net/standalone-journals/ (added December 24, 2024)
-Prominently mentioned impact factor is fake since they are not indexed in Clarivate’s indices (ESCI, SCIE or SSCI) which can be checked here https://mjl.clarivate.com/home
-Indexing info if you scroll down here https://www.ijfmr.com is full of so-called misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) like DRJI or meaningless logos like Academia and Scirus (which does not exist anymore)
-Contact info (A1-108, Pancham Villa, Behind Bhagyalaxmi Township, Ajwa Road, Vadodara - 90019, Gujarat, India.) leads to nice looking ultra-modern houses but is most likely fake. Update: It is now changed in a meaningless and incomplete address (https://www.ijfmr.com/contact-us.php )
-I checked a couple of papers and was well… not impressed by the ‘quality’ (see for example https://www.ijfmr.com/papers/2022/6/947.pdf )
-Talking about following UGC-CARE guidelines (while not listed) is simply misleading. Update: The UGC-CARE list is no longer functional https://www.researchgate.net/post/UGC_care_list_discontinued
Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful response.
