Generally, we use a term anomaly for an REE when it shows enrichment/depletion with respect to its neighbours such as the famous one is Europium (Eu) anomaly having Samarium (Sm) on its left side and Gadolinium (Gd) on the right side. Eu-anomaly is generally related to the plagioclase mineral as Eu prefers preferentially to stay in this mineral over the others. In the case of Lanthanum (La) we don’t have an element on its left side, so given that can we use La anomaly with reference to Cerium (Ce) only, an element next it.

Is La anomaly useful to track down the anthropogenic activities given that REEs are being used extensively in tech-based industries if not significant in describing the natural REE geochemistry?
