Hello! I hope you are doing well! I am a research student, and I have been trying to use lanthanum nickel(LaNi5) for hydrogen storage in metal hydride hydrogen compressors.

The amount of the hydride I am using is about 16 grams. My system is around 20-25 inches in length and has a smaller volume. I am thinking of keeping the system in a vacuum by switching on the vacuum pump for 30 minutes while heating using the heat gun at 200C and then keeping the hydride in the vacuum for 12/24 hours before proceeding with the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations for the procedure? I obviously can't run the pump for 12 hours. Also, should I heat the system during vacuuming for a few hours and then keep the system in vacuum for 12 hours?

Or, should we first create a vacuum for 15 minutes, then heat the system for a few minutes, and leave the hydride in the vacuum for 24 hours? I am looking forward to hearing from you soon Thank you Regards Ketan
