I am trying to determine reasons that may have led to growth of a plant due to gene overexpression and if this gene overexpression has improved the crop quality of this plant.
Hi Ioannis, I am looking into rice. I am looking at the reasons for its growth due to overexpression of a target gene, and wether this gene overexpression leads to crop quality improvement.
Again depends on what you consider to be quality of the crop, quality of rice is normally judged by the chemical and physical properties of the grain. Of course you can define your own definition of "quality" that is inline with your research question. By your answer I guess by crop-quality you mean the quality of the end product, right ?
Yes. I mean the properties of the grain. But I am also studying the the molecular reasons that led to growth due to overexpression. So I am studying two things. Right now, I am trying to use the grains only, but I don't know wether the grain is applicable in the studying of growth. Thanks.
