In ANSYS 15.0 can upload a text file to generate a curve or a series of points. Do I need to know if this can be done for mesh generation in 2-D? If it is possible which of the components of the program is best suited for use in my problem (ex. CFX, Structural,etc)?
I'm afraid it is not easy to do so. Usually, we upload text files and generate the mesh in ICEM. Then input the mesh to FLUENT or CFX for calculation.
This is possible but you have to write a code for that. If I were you, I would check some mesh structures that these programs generate and pick the one which would suit my coding style best.
Lately, I have tried writing a code that generates the mesh around a cylinder in GAMBIT and importing it into Fluent but I have to tell you that it is a painful process. However when you gain that flexibility, you can play with your mesh without any restrictions of the mesh program that you use.
