Hi all,
Due to time constraints, My team had to shelve our plans to publish the protocol for systematic review and focus groups that are currently going on (current status: data analysis completed for review and data collection phase completed for the focus group ). Does any journal accept a protocol paper on on-going studies or studies that are on its last phase? If yes, which journals accepts it?

You can at least publish it on Researchgate if you want, as ”Data” (category under ”Add new” up to the right on your main page), if what you want is to get feedback or to invite someone to help you. You can also use the data for conference presentation published proceedings perhaps. But it is much better just to wrap it up and finish it. Raw data is everywhere, journals will usually want a conventional paper with your literature review, method description, results, analysis and conclusions. But perhaps there is some publication possibility. Just be aware of vanity presses and predatory journals that publish anything. They only want your money.
There are not that many journals that publish protocols for qualitative studies, but International Journal of Qualitative Methods is one. So, see what kinds of standards they propose for protocols.
Yes, it is possible—albeit uncommon—to publish the protocol of an ongoing research study. That being said, you should always read the submission guidelines of the journal of interest. You could go through the following for insights.
