As viruses become day to day smarter and develop resistance by modifying his own gentic makeup to most of the fixed dose molecules. Is it possible to treat such viruses cases with varying degree of combination of existing molecule with others. Can we use herbal base for the same.

I believe all viruses are smart, some are more adapted to the hosts than others. It is not in the best interest of any pathogen to make the host sick/kill. In many cases [as in the case of CMV] it is the host response to the virus that makes us sick. Increasing host inate immunity may be the answer [interferons and other broadly acting paracrine hormones]. Herbal base may be a way to induce inate immunity
I think the existing herbal drugs with antiviral potency should be re-investigated for their effects against the so called smart viruses. Just as an example, Tulsi which is considered as a potent antiviral herbal drug, can be used for the studies pertaining this area.
