I am intrigued by your question, as the establishment of ethical practices seems to me to be an irregular work in progress, speaking historically. It may be of some worth for you to look at the originators of the term "bioethics", Fritz Jahr in Germany in the 1930's, and Van Rensselaer Potter in the United States in the 1970's, both of whom had much more comprehensive anticipations than the current focus on bio-medical ethics that dominates the field today. Also, and probably not incidentally, you might also consider the works of those thinkers engaged in Futurology, which coincided with the project of bioethics, comprising social scientists, science fiction writers, scientists, architects, social critics, and so on.
