We read about mindless killing of innocent citizens by extremist. What induces such behaviour? Are there any remedy ? Some multidisciplinary research by social scientists, psychologists, biochemistry etc may help to find solution. Your comments, suggestions are solicited.
Civilians are very easy target for extremist. Additionally, significant acts of violence, attract media attention which, typically, in the eyes of the extremist, advances their agenda, in many ways, not the least of which is gaining attention, and by their actions, suggesting a tactical victory against those they oppose. As for changing their attitudes, we have seen it in some situations where they can either achieve victory or some event has occurred that inspire some degree of reconciliation. Otherwise, those in the extremist movement that survived the conflict either age out of violence for Kerry their animosity and anger to the grave.
