In my college days , a teacher is used to demonstrate experiments as a teaching aid. Now a days , it is usually replaced by power point presentations.Which method is more efficient?
Sir, as far as I am concerned, the former one is better. Bcz we can show and teach the principle directly. But due to the speed and load of subjects in an academic year, make the things tight, so, most of the teachers going to " Smarter class rooms- PPTs". It is up to the education ministry to just lift some stress on the tight schedule of the academic year, so that we may go Old school.
I feel you may get a unanimous response to your question. Teacher demonstration is by far the best way to demonstrate physics. I can still remember some of the demonstrations my teacher used in not only physics but in biology and engineering as well.
Being able to watch and listen to the explanations as the experiment went along to its conclusion was engaging along with the smell of sulfur I will never forget. Also seeing the actual dropping of acid and eating its way though steel,
I hope all will agree live demonstrations are far superior to a power point presentation.
