Besides the fact that these parameters are about real-world implementations (simulated "ideal" circuits will deliver "ideal values" if everything is correct) especially ENOB is about the full measurement range - not only a single value.

Hello Anush,

Don't get discouraged by noise when playing with signals. You have to increase your SNR to get best ENOB!!!!

You can refer to Analog Devices for nice explanation. Refer the "Data Conversion Details" and also the online software tools to get a feel of testing ADCs. I can refer you to MT003 Technical Note for the exact explanation of the ADC parameters that you are interested to know.

Surely it is not possible to properly estimate the ADC dynamic parameters from a single analysis perforemd applying a constant DC input. Nonetheless, by performing a "static" ADC characterization for different DC inputs spanning the ADC input range (i.e. tracing the DC characteristic of the ADC) you can get valuable information about integral/differential nonlinearity, from which you can obtain an upper bound of the ENOB/SNDR perfomance which could be achieved by the ADC. If your sample and hold is ideal, the performance you can estimate considering how the input voltage samples are mapped by the ADC static characteristic provide a sufficiently good picture of the actual ADC performance, from which you can estimate SNDR, ENOB, etc... according with their definition. Of course, for the real circuit driven by an AC signal and including a S/H the situation can be different because of the different impact of noise and because of the S/H non-indeal behavior, especially if the actual AC signal to be processed covers the whole ADC bandwidth.
