In X-ray computed tomography, the defects come with probability value attached with them. Is there any particular cutoff value of probability to differentiate between real defects and artefacts?
I have been waiting with you some days whether some one will give an answer to your question. Up to now no answer showed up.
I have never heard about a probability threshold in combination with artifacts and 'real defects'.
Especially for the medical area I cannot imagine the existence of such a threshold. I think from the ethical point of view such threshold would not be accepted.
It is the task of radiologist to differentiate between them by applying all his knowledge and experience.
In the non-medical CT area there might be such a threshold existing; but I never heard about.
In few CTs, there are options to differentiate between artefacts and real defects using probability. Initially, I too thought that experience matters but I was curious about is there any cut-off value of probability to differentiate between these two measures. Any how I got a good response from you.
