I'm going to desgin simple photospectrometer with pmt tube.
So, I want to check specific wavelength(450nm).
Is it possible?
A pmt does not have sufficient wavelength resolution to serve as the analysis device. The response of a pmt is wavelength dependent, but it is slowly varying.
You will need a wavelength dispersing device and slit.

I got these smeared bands quite often lately. We typically run the gel at 140V with a 10-12% gel and do a wet transfer at 220 mA for 1.5 hr in cold room. We also noticed some dirty spots/dots (see...

As I understand if you use the mean and SD for describing your data, this means it is normally distributed and parametric. If so, the test for variance should be simple T test.
