There was unlevelling on cotton fabric like oil spots after optimizing this issue this problem is arising in new form. Laminar or parallel lining type unlevelling is occurring. But I am not using any levelling agent. Do i need to use leveller for this purpose?
Some information is required: fabric type (Knit/woven), deep/medium/light shade coloring, yarn count, GSM and pretreatment recipe.
Basically levelling agent is not a mandatory chemical for reactive dyeing on cotton, since fibre surface charge and dye molecule charge are reverse, and that is handled by salt.
Still some options can be there (depending on the required info) for corrections:
1. Using better quality wetting agent during pretreatment.
2. Peroxide killing and neutralization should be done with proper recipe.
3. Progressive dosing is suggested during dyeing.
4. A trial could be done with levelling agent also.
I agree with Md. Abdul Hannan , You can also try to vary the agitation and the heating speed.
First of all fabric quality and Pr-treatment are most important.? Is it mercerized or half bleach? crease problem or lining are mostly due to poor Pr-treatment. As reactive dye is a soluble dye.
Secondly, if the process is exhaust within bath? than fabric needed to be stirred continuously.
it possible to achieve level reactive dyeing without using levelling agent however . Leveling agent tend to slow down the dye uptake of the fibers helping to produce more uniform color in the textile fiber known as retardant. Hence, it is necessary.
Heating gradient control
Linear Dosing of dyes
Use sodium bicarbonate/sodium carbonate in linear dose
Add dye bath conditioner (if possible) Levocol 2010
I think,is better to use the heating gradient control and the linear Dosing of dyes (Sandip KRISHNA Miraje).
