I am working on garbage enzyme and doing experiments on expedite removal of BOD, COD with the use of garbage enzyme. I observe the results and found that BOD5 and COD increases after addition of garbage enzyme and but also found that TSS, TDS, TS decreases after addition of garbage enzyme.
The same result that is increase in BOD5 I found in a paper (E. Fu Tang, and W.Tong, “A study of the Garbage Enzyme‟s effects in domestic wastewater”, World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology,vol 60, pp 1143-1148, 2011).
The reason may be that the garbage enzyme itself having high BOD and when it mixed with waste water it increases BOD.
Then how can we claim the utilization of garbage enzyme.

I am no expert in this aspect , but as you having the BOD increased . this means that the enzyme itself is biodegradable.Try to measure its biodegradability!
But I have a little suspect about the sampling procedure! are you doing it in a standard method?
In the paper you refer to (link below; paper is apparently not on RG) I read the BOD increase of the treated wastewater is caused by the organic matter of the garbage enzyme liquid. Obviously if the garbage enzyme solution contains so much BOD in increase the treated wastewater the COD will increase at least as much.
If the garbage enzyme liquid actually contain degradation enzymes it makes sense that it breaks organic particles down to smaller molecules that no longer measure as solids.

Actually, I don't think that there is any direct relationship between BOD/COD
and solids. It may depends on the other factors like fluid dynamics and turbulence and content in solids.

It is highly unlikely the BOD/COD increase was caused by the enzyme''s own BOD/COD levels. Such enzymes are known to breakdown large compounds (e.g. polymers)/particles into smaller compounds (e.g. monomers)/smaller particles through hydrolysis process, which typically elevate BOD/COD levels since much of the C is now available in dissolved forms. Such enzymes are used to breakdown undigested sludge in waste stabilisation ponds where increasing BOD levels can be a nuisance.
Using aeration (aerobic digestion) after enzyme breakdown of garbage will assist in reducing BOD/COD levels by bacterial assimilation/respiration process. Alternatively, anaerobic digestion can be used to strip the increased BOD/COD into CH4.
