i mean the question has two parts; one is about the using of the units as F/g and F/cm2. The other is about the effect of the unit on the explanation of electrochemical properties. as known that the units are important for the comparision of the data and if you use standart substrate such as Al foil with diameter of 1 cm, you should use the F/g unit. so if you use a certain amount of active material and coated the substrate, the F/cm2 should be better
Let me detail my question rather.. say I take one gram of substance and fabricate 2 electrodes: in one case I spread over 10 sq.cm electrode-area and in the other I put on 1sq. cm area-electrode. Obviously the specific capacitances will differ and cant be correlated. That is why we cant compare the results available in the literature! I feel I have proved my point!
