We are trying to capsulate a hydrophobic drug solved in DMSO by chitosan nanoparticle, But immediatley after adding the drug to chitosan solution before applying the TPP, it become cloudy with a lot of particle which could percipitated after being steady for hours. Is it normal to see these particles after adding drug to chitosan or not? If it should be a totally clear and homogeneous solution at the end of the process, what is your recommendation?

What happens if you simply add DMSO to chitosan, without the drug? Do you see the same effect? Maybe your drug is negatively charged and will interfere with chitosan allowing the formation of nanocomplexes.

It's highly unlikely, that's too small a concentration for the purpose!
is it an aqueous chitosan solution? In this case same might happen if you add water to the solution in DMSO.

Thanks for your help. I add drug powder directly to chitosan solution and it completely solved on it with the leat amount of particles.
