I performed DGGE recently. After cutting out bands of interest, I eluted the DNA in 50 ul elution buffer containing 0.1TE and stored them at 4'C. How long the eluted DNA can be stored without compromising the subsequent amplification process?
Dear Mohamed, the eluted products can be stored for few days, but storing for more days will affect the efficiency of DNA, it is recommended to start the next step immmediately
Regarding the direct amplification of the eluted products, not necessary but to be sure you can amplify it

Hello! Generally the eluted DNA is amplified immediately, I have stored it for 2-3 days at the most at 4 degrees.
I would think that the eluted DNA would be quite stable at 4C for 4-5 days, if you want to store it for longer duration you can store it at -20C/-80C. I don't think the DNA will degrade that easily!

You dont have to use it immediately, and you can store your DNA at -20 °C. You may also try :
Short-term storage (weeks) at 4°C in Tris-EDTA
Medium-term storage (months) at –80°C in Tris-EDTA
Long-term storage (years) at as –80°C as a precipitate under ethanol
Long-terms storage (decades) at –164°C or dried
