I have prepared nanocomposites of alpha Fe2O3 & ZnO. In XRD patterns of the composite sample, a dominant peak corresponding to [104] plane of alpha Fe2O3 is absent. However, other dominant peaks of both alpha Fe2O3 and ZnO are present in the XRD of nanocomposite. What can be the possible reason for absence of the dominant peak of alpha Fe2O3 in the Composite sample? I appreciate and thank your attempts to answer and discuss the question.
Did you also check for ZnFe2O4? If you can upload the XRD spectra, we can provide more justified reasons.

the absence of peaks is a typical artifact due to preferred orientation of the crystallites in your sample. Please mill you sample and repeate your measurements. You will most propably then see your missed peaks.

XRD peaks of constituent compounds will appeared only for the crystalline phases.
You don't mentioned to the condition of your samples; annealed or not?
If not you need to make annealing at appropriate temperature according to its DTA or DSC.
