Dear Mutasem Z. Bani-Fwaz , I think it is not a matter of logical justification at this time. Also, something seems to be played behind closed doors! The leaders of this playing are the heads of capitalism in the world.
In the end, I think something will be growth within this month simultaneously with some drugs of England and Russia.
The problem with severe COVID-19 cases is not the viral infection, but the overreaction of the immune system, the cytokine storm. So it is more import to recover good health through life-style change than produce vaccine. Maintain a optimal body weight, blood pressure, blood glucose and lipid, and especially reduce the visceral fat to stop the triggering and development cytokine storm.
Have a look at the following discussion: https://www.researchgate.net/post/If_you_are_an_expert_in_COVID-19_why_it_takes_so_long_to_confirm_a_successful_vaccine_for_COVID-19
Despite the orchestrated efforts of the scientists from all over the world, the mutations of the virus makes the creation of the vaccin confusing. However, they will overcome the complexities in the near future.
As I understand the process takes time. First it needs to be tested on non-humans and then observed over several months (for anti-body generation). Then it needs to be tested on humans and again several months of observation. Then there is question of iterations for finding the best solutions.
vaccines are available, the issue is its interaction with other medications for those suffering from chronic diseases, and the efficacy related to secondary infections that can lead to a Multi-drug Resistance. It is best to follow primary health care guidelines to prevent transmission until an ethical process takes place for a global vaccine distribution.
Not every infectious agent of man elicits a protective immune response, e.g., TB, syphilis, etc and subject for making an effective vaccine. At best, Flu vaccines are hyped as 40% effective (some say only 20%) due to seasonal viral antigenic drift.mutations. The problem is Mother Nature, not Man.
It is not so easy, but above all! it takes time: the protocols in this regard, for vaccines and drugs, are very strict since the sad case of Thalidomine; in fact, the antiretrovirals (AZT and others) that were released without meeting such standards for HIV / AIDS are being seen to generate very important side effects (liver disease, renopathy, lipodystrophy, etc.)
It may well be the natural (herd) immunity results from cellular immunity (T cells) and not from humoral immunity (B cells, Gm, Gg antibodies). If so, just developing antigens to stimulate antibody production without cellular immunity maybe totally ineffective in the long run. Regardkess, the virus is spreading and herd immunity is develioping as we debate,
Its a good question. But, developing/designing/delivering a successful vaccine is not like deliveriing pizza over phone call!!.
I am not accusing/mocking you. But, I am accusing the thought processing of most people. I see similar questions across all social platforms. This kind of immediate expectation or gratification often ends in a tragedy only.
This world is greatly indebted to all good scientist/researcher for generations. Because of their effort, we mostly succeed in the battle between human and disease. It is not that much simple to develop a vaccine without testing properly. If the scientific community provide a vaccine with so much adverse effects after decades, again the scientific community would be blamed for their inadequacy.
Hence, the best part to do right now is give the time for the scientific community. Let them to work hard for all of us.
It takes time (as in over two years) to produce a suitable and more importantly safe vaccine especially for a virus with a somewhat ambiguous pathophysiology. Vaccines that have currently been approved for trial have based their knowledge on SARS-1 and/or MERS which belong to the same family but are not the same as SARS-cov-2. To produce therapy, vaccines, or even to simply treat, you need to really know what you are dealing with and to be absolutely sure (otherwise you may cause more harm than good). This means the production of accurate and reliable data which as well know is time consuming.
If we keep waiting for more and more data the "patient" will either be at autopsy or everyone will have heard immunity and there will be no need for vaccine.
COVID19 is new and every scientist is trying their best to formulate a vaccine that will control the spread of the virus in human contacts. It is not logical to say or accusing them that they can't be able to obtain but truly desperate and that's what we had observed of all the circumstances and pressures on their head. But let us support them, I understand their feeling and that's a too difficult task. and for all of us, let us pray for them to succeed. In the end, we are the beneficiary, right?
Thank you, Sir Mutasem Z. Bani-Fwaz and kind regards.
Scientists have found vaccines for other diseases before, so this will be the case for the coronavirus, too. However, they need time to test it properly. This is the case for all effective vaccines.
But don't forget there are doctors who are sceptical about the usefulness of vaccines. I have taken flu vaccines before that didn't really stopped the flu.
