FullProf sofware is best and you can use it.

Rietveld analysis is the best and most flexible analysis to do on XRD data. FullProf is a good suite, but I prefer TOPAS or HighScore+, which are from Bruker and Malvern, respectively. The caveat here is that you need crystallographic data in the form of *.cif files (PDF4+ or Crystallographic open database (COD)) for the best quantification. You can do other types of quantification by adding structures or even peak phases, but are inherently less accurate.

Topas software is a paid version. However FullProf is freely available. FullProf is best in comparison to Topas and older.

Although we do Rietveld analysis of bulk ceramics to quantify phase fraction but it's not recommended (up to my knowledge) because ceramics have the strain factor. The free powder Rietveld is always recommended (so try to avoid bulk ceramics Rietveld as much as possible)

Thank you all for such nice responses. I found it is a bit difficult to create input files in Full Prof software. In that respect, MAUD is a good option. That's also freely available. But the question at this point is, whether those data after analysis will be reliable or not?

Any suggestions on MAUD......

Subha Sanket Panda, yes, you should go for MAUD, its interface is more straightforward than Fullprof. I use Fullprof for the magnetic phase from neutron diffraction.

Just remind that bulk samples usually contain texture or preferred orientation. MAUD is best for handling texture, anisotropic size broadening, and strain.

Gaurav Gupta, you can't compare software simply from the point you have the older version. They keep updating, and that is the strong point while the free software is tough to do the same. Of course, if you don't have access to the commercial software, you have no choice. Most software is based on the developer's expertise, which is why you have to learn others.

Your knowledge might be more than me regarding the XRay data. But my experience related to refinement says that FullProf gives better result than topas. GSAS, expert high score is also good. But their terminology Or procedure of refinement is tough.

Gaurav Gupta, if you said that one software has better results than the other, you have to come with the basis, either with RR-sample or SRM.

FYI, most if not all of NIST SRM (XRD) use Topas for the data analysis.
