I am working on a solid polymer electrolyte system and incorporating an ionic liquid (IL) to improve the ionic conductivity. However, I have observed that after curing, the ionic liquid gradually leaches out of the polymer matrix over time.

Is this a common issue when using ionic liquids in polymer electrolytes? What are the typical reasons for this behavior, and how can it be minimized or prevented?

Also, I wonder — do researchers frequently encounter this problem but choose not to mention it in their publications?

I would appreciate any insights, relevant literature, or suggestions from others who have faced similar challenges.

Thank you!
