In most of the universities where I worked, promotion from assistant professor to associate requires the following: 1. Candidate should spend a minimum 5 years as assistant professor. 2. Published at least 5 original articles in well-recognized medical journals. The Medical Center in your case, usually send your application, CV, and copies of the publications to a promotion committees at prominent universities. Your fellow supervisor can support your application with a recommendation letter, but not your fellow researchers. Good luck.

We do not apply this system in EG Universities ,as we candidate apply their researches and scientific activities to the related committee ,where researches and activities are distributed ,evaluated before decision to promote .
