Thin film deposition of same materials (Polyaniline emeraldine salt and base) one is conducting and another is non conducting. Thin film being deposited and termed as heterostructure, is it correct?, junction of layered thin films.
Heterostructure is mentioned against homostructure. Heterostructure is a structure with heterojunction interfaces between two material. In fact, if you have multiple heterojunction so you have a heterostructure. Heterojunction interface is related to the interface of two different semiconductor with different crystallinity and band gap. If you have such a device, your device is a heterostructure device.
Of course you can use heterostructures for your bilayers.
Two different structures connects to form an interface is always an heterostructure; it should be true even for same material but with different crystal structure.
Traditionally, a heterojunction is referred to an interface of two different materials in chemical content. However, it has been extended to other situations such as an interface of the same material but different structures (e.g., ZB GaAs and WZ GaAs), of the same material but different crystal orientations (e.g., a structure known as orientational superlattice), etc.
