Is 0.1M HClO4 solution is suitable electrolyte for Pt-NiCo complex catalysis and sensing of CC and HQ.Please help. i know pH of it is 1 and its strong acid.
I found a few paper that could help you in your research.
A mixture of H2SO4 and CH3OH seems to be used most of the time in acidic experimental conditions but you can also work in basic conditions with KOH or citrate-based electrolytes.
The review Int. J. Electrochem. Sci., 9 (2014) 5607 - 5639 seems to discuss the different electrolytes that could be used with Pt catalyst (among them HClO4 is studied).
What pH range would you like to work in?
Have you simply tried to run an experiment with this electrolyte?
Marie Berthuel Thanks for you help. i want to work in some neutral pH (6-8) because sensing of Catechol and Hydraqunion is best at that pH. i try to work on that electrolyte it give good results but may be reviewer ask why you use strong acid for sensing.
