Stemming from the 1972 theory, does group think still carry meaning to today’s management decision making; in other words, how effective is the group-think theory in organizations today?
It is not so much a theory as a description of a phenomenon. If you are asking whether people still behave this way, the answer is yes, when the conditions are conducive. If you are asking whether decisions made through this process are still likely to be poor decisions, the answer is also yes.
Never did think it was useful. I always thought it was someting to avoid. Gaining a consensus of those gathered is the desired goal, I believe.
