While it is true that the climate has never stood still, it has always warmed when carbon dioxide has increased. Humans are increasing CO2, so they are responsible for the current climate change.
Yes, it's a scientific fact. But the debate is on the role of nature or human activities on climate change.
A lot of discussions on climate - already held or are going. Just, search (question with keywords 'climate' , warming etc...) and read - very interesting.
Hundreds of religions and faiths in the world and thousands of prophecies , conflecting sets of prophecies. My own prophecy is that humanity will be lost if it destroys itself for the sake of prophecies. ..
Howdy believers and non-believers! Happy New-year and remember this!
Those who don't know the difference between science and religion, are no better than those who made a mockery of Charles Darwin by drawing him as being an ape.
One of the corroborations of evolution theory is that the great ape families are the species most closely related to our own, comprising Chimpanzees, Bonobos, Gorillas, and Orangutans. They live exclusively in tropical rainforests in Central Africa and the islands of Southeast Asia. Due to their close evolutionary relationship with humans, great apes share many cognitive, physiological, and morphological similarities with humans. The members of the great ape family make obvious models to facilitate the further understanding about humans' biology and history.
Makes one wonder no? Are we more Ape or more human? Are we really that rational as we tend to think? Look at President Trumputan. As a matter of fact his Orangutan genes have been more translated and expressed during his development as a human. His hair is a genuine Orangutan gene expression. Moreover he does not read or write,... but tweets!!! A typical Orangutan way of communication.
Whether he is a stable genius is still to be proven. But the nuclear kick-off button on his desk is for sure larger than the one on Kim Yong Un's desk.
Would that be why he was voted into the presidency of the US as the most powerful Orangutan male on the Planet of the Apes bound to blow humanity into the eternity of extinction?
Is Earth, still the planet of autocratic dominant male Apes? Makes one wonder no?
Given the dire situation that all great ape populations currently face, there is added motivation for researchers to learn as much as possible from their genomes, both to provide additional justification for conservation efforts and because such studies may be impossible in the not-too-distant future. As highlighted above, great ape genomic studies have already been highly informative in regards to human biology, human history, and the effects of natural selection.
The great apes are likely to remain of critical importance for future human genetic studies, even without the benefits of manipulative studies that are used in model organisms such as the Trumputan.
This is both a scientific fact and a fulfilment of a Biblical prophesy.
Depletion of the ozone layer by the production of Green House Gases (GHG) by the anthropogenic activities of man, which has led to climate change and global warming. This is scientific.
Biblical prophesy 2 Peter 3: 6 & 7 'through which the world that then existed was destroyed, being overflowed with water.
But the heavens and the earth that are now, are reserved by the same word, reserved for fire until the day of judgement and destruction of ungodly men.'
The over exploitation of the resources has also contributed to fulfilling this prophesy.
True Kenneth, couldn't help it. And I know it's bad for ones reputation. And getting angry doesn't help. But it was fun making the analogy between the planet of the Apes and the planet of Humans.
As a matter of fact a very good documentary has been made comparing Human and Animal behavior. Funny and good science too. Made by a Dutch scientist 20 years ago. Difficult to translate the title in English. Sounds like: "Human behavior close to that of Animals?"
it is a scientific discourse, not necessarily a fact. There have been brought forward evidence which ha sbeen and is discussed. There might be people who see it as a biblical challenge, but even if this exists then still the scientific discourse is what is more relevant.
Before continuing with heated discussions if there really is a climate change or not, let us first declare our financial and organizational interests:
I do not receive any payment from any lobbyist group, political or other organization in order to bias my opinion.
So I can freely discuss how much natural or man-made desasters (or a combination of both, see Fukushima) had cost us, cost us and will cost us as humankind -- in insurance payments.
I believe in (Scientific and other) freedom that well protects minority opinions.
- Am I paid by a lobbyists' group either ruthlessly biased towards climate change or against it?
I declare I am not, since I am a member of a rather "mild" Environmental NGO not favouring activism. They do not pay me. I pay a membership fee.
- Am I a member of a political party that has any "climate change" ideas as a part of their ideology? Definition of ideology: "It is a wrong belief even believed by its followers in order to justify their deeds, with the final aim to manipilate people and to rule over them"? (source: Werner Hofmann, "Grundlagen der Wirtschaftsgesellschaft")
I declare I am not but my political party rather tends to be sceptic about the consequences of climate changes - I do not fully suport that opinion. Time will tell.
They do not pay me. I pay a membership fee.
- Do I follow the rather peculiar tradition "on the other side of the pond" to not clearly differenciate between science and religion, as a part of an ideology?
NO. I am a religious person in Europe. I see no contradiction between science and religion. Science can offer answers by giving proof that religions and religious beliefs do not aim at. There is no contradiction: Believing and expecting proof are two sides of the human medal, not one side. Do not mix that up: We can be both believers and scientists. --
I feel a common bond between me and most other religions' believers.
My religious organization does not pay me. I pay a membership fee.
So now we can continue to discuss the matter freely and open-mindedly.
Making the developing countries to know the difference between Science and Religion will be one of the greatest challenge of the 21st century and attaining the sustainable development goals.
Global warming and climate change are a scientific fact. The planet´s average surface temperature has risen about 0.9 °C since the late 19th century. A change driven largely by increased carbon dioxide and other human-made emissions into the atmosphere.
Regarding biblical prophecy, it is difficult to link it with co-scientific research in the field of climate change. In addition, more accurate data on this subject exist in the last three centuries, not biblical times.
More and more research centers operating in different countries and investigating climate change state that the progressing greenhouse effect on Earth is already a fact. As a result, the risk of increasingly frequent and increasingly dramatic climate disasters is increasing. Man has less and less time to counteract these negative processes. It is necessary to change the development strategy based on intensifying the exploitation of the Earth's resources on the sustainable development strategy. It is necessary to develop new energy technologies based on renewable energy sources to slow down the progressing greenhouse effect of the Earth in order to reduce the risk of dramatic natural cataclysms. It is necessary to develop ecological innovations, while it may not be too late. It is necessary to save the Earth through destruction for future generations.
The discussed issue in the above discussion is particularly important, so I invite you to continue the discussion on this topic.
Climate Change is real, and glonal warming is occurring. This is largely attributed to emission of GHGs, especially Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide, and halocarbons, to the atmosphere by human activities.
I strongly believe it is a scientific fact. Bearing trends, evidence and number of studies conducted to unearth what underlies if indeed our current climate is changing. Despite the school of thoughts and causes of these, i opine that the whole concept emanated from observation, experience, research and scientific facts
