Forgive me if my question is naive, but I'm hoping to gain some clarity in describing ferroelectric phenomena.

The assumption I'm making in my statement is that if a ferroelectric crystal must contain a noncentrosymmetric crystal structure, then the polarization or dielectric constant will be directionally-dependent (and therefore anisotropic). The only circumstance I can imagine where a ferroelectric would not be anisotropic is if there exist crystal domains to cancel out this anisotropy. Thanks for your time!
