Enzymatic retting is succesfully applied on i.e. flax, hemp fibers.
Would that work on dry hemp stem, without any dew-retting?
Four review papers that might provide clues at https://www.fose1.plymouth.ac.uk/sme/mats347/ReviewPapers.htm#enzyme
Enzymatic retting cannot be successfully applied on hemp/flax stems without any pretreatment.
Pretreatment can enhance enzyme accessibility for non-cellulosic components.
A short-period dew-retting might be one option as pretreatment for following enzymatic treatment.
