In my opinion, both possibilities are exclusive: Either the universe is not created and eternal and than it would be independent of the existence of God. Or  the universe is created by God.

In fact, I am a Christian and believe in the existence of God. Thinking about the existence of the universe is for me a way to show that it is reasonable to believe in the existence of God:

The existence of God cannot be proven or disproven by methods of natural science. If God exists, is he beyond the universe - this means transcendental. Natural science can only describe facts and cause-effect-relations. Natural science investigates what is within our universe - matter, energy and time -, but it cannot reach beyond our universe.

To treat the question “Does God exists?” I would like to start with the observation, that everything known by us in this universe has a beginning and an end. Nothing is eternal.

There are two possible explanations:

Atheists do not believe that an intelligent higher being has created the universe. Consequently they have to believe, that a part of the universe (for example, the “Unifying Theory” or the gravity) or the universe itself is eternal and not created. Or they give an explanation like that the time (respectively the universe) runs a circuit, suggesting that then a creation would not be necessary at all.

The alternative is to believe that an eternal intelligent higher being has created the universe.

As examples for the concepts of atheists you may analyze two books from Stephen Hawking (Hawking 1988: A Brief History of Time; Hawking & Mlodinow 2010: The Grand Design). A closer view on thes books demonstrate that the reasons given by Stephen Hawking to suggest that there is no higher being are only beliefs without serious foundation: 1) Hawking (1988: p. 173-179) suggests an imaginary time which should be circular; 2) Hawking (1988: p. 217) claims that the hypothetical unified theory of physics should force the universe into existence; 3) Hawking & Mlodinow (2010, p. 177) believe that the law of gravitation can make that the universe creates itself spontaneously from nothing.

In fact, science can neither prove nor disprove that the universe was created by a higher being. Science investigates what is within our universe – matter, energy and time –, but it cannot reach beyond our universe.

To decide, in which of both possibilities someone wants to believe, is an act of faith with far-reaching consequences:

If the universe is not created, the only purpose of the universe is to exist, and the only sense and purpose of the existence of mankind and any human being is to be alive. In this case, biological death signifies the definitive end of the existence of a person.

If the universe is created by a higher being, the universe has a sense and purpose defined by its creator. And mankind and the life of any human being has a deep sense and purpose, because we are the only parts of the universe known by us, which are able to ask for sense and purpose. Consequently, it is very important for each of us to search the sense and purpose of our live as it is defined by the higher being. If our life is in accordance with the sense and purpose given by the creator, our life is meaningful, otherwise not.

Furthermore, this higher being will have a great interest to communicate with us – exactly, because in difference to plants and animals we have a free will and we are able to think, to understand and to ask for sense and purpose. The search for how and what the higher being wants to communicate with us, is closely related to the search for the sense of our life.

The rules for people who walk in the path of Dharma (coherence with universe ) and we are all forms of that energy - Brahman ( cosmic principle and a reality ) .

Brahma also is considered genderless / formless creator .

The "Divine Aseity" if it is consistent with an "Eternal Universe".

Naturally there is a creator for the universe, the "power" that started the creation and currently awaiting to see if its existence will be acknowledged by the brains of living things.

A good question but out of my knowledge.

God exsts in the mind of many people but not in the mind of all people, millions of people believe not in God but in a universal fate or in the ongoing of cosmic powers.Given the meaning of the word "God": If He or She exists in reality outside of our mind nobody can know, but everyman can believe. So the questions implies conditions which are strong limitation for the answer.

From a religious point of view based on Islamic traditions , God has had an existing reality independent from the genesis of the universe. In point of fact, eternal universe presupposes divine aseity.
