Is deceleration at max (i.e. 9) on the Legend XTR Centrifuge equivalent to brake on?

I am trying to isolate PBMC's from whole blood samples and I saw many methods have the brake on during the sepmate spin with Ficoll. However, the Legend XTR Centrifuge does not have a brake on/off switch. It has acceleration and deceleration. Can I adjust the acceleration and deceleration to basically work as an on/off brake switch?

Yes, in centrifuges when break is no provided, deaccelatation works. Maximum deaccelatation mean maximum force to stop the rotor i.e. break.

For PBMC try to centrifuge at 1 or 0 deaccelation.
