COVID 19 has brought with it virtual scientific conference and scientists all over the world have resorted to virtual attendance to scientific conferences. There are many reasons why scientists attend scientific conferences as we all know. Currently, the scientific community has no other alternative than to do their conferences due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Would you as a scientist opt for virtual conferences after this pandemic or you would want to be physically present and why?

Due to the epidemic situation, conferences are held online. It is a new, interesting solution that is worth getting to know.

I think the covid -19 had made the virtual practice the new normal
Collins Tay my hope is that "real" conferences will become again possible sometime in the near future. Virtual conferences lack the possibility of meeting colleagues in person (and they also lack the touristic aspect...). My suggestion would be to organize something like "hybrid conferences", where researchers can meet in person at a conference site, but others can also participate online. This would help e.g. researchers who cannot afford the travel costs.

In my opinion, after the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic (causing the Covid-19 disease), scientific conferences will be organized in both forms, i.e. in traditional, stationary form with the physical presence of researchers and scientists at the conference and in a virtual, remote form, via the Internet via via online online videoconferencing applications. Both forms of conferences have their advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, some of the conferences may be organized in a dual, hybrid form, i.e. in both of the above-mentioned forms simultaneously.
