There is argument in the strategy literature that competitive advantage is a part of strategy on one hand and on the other hand, competitive advantage is viewed as a goal towards the realisation of which corporate resources need to be allocated and corporate efforts committed. If you ask me, I opt to align with the view competitive advantage is a goal towards which both corporate efforts are aligned and available resources marshaled out to ensure its attainment in the ever-evolving and hyper-competitive marketplace.
