I am looking for some instruments required to carry out sequestration in the laboratory. If anyone is working on the parameter permeability or geological sequestration of CO2 broadly please do respond.
The Illinois State Geological Survey has just finished injecting one million tons of Co2 at over 2000 meters in the Mt Simon Sandstone. Co2 was derived from the fermenters of a major ethnol producer's facility. Another 1.5 million tons will be Injected in a second nearby hole at the same depth. The site is highly instrumented and monitored. Funding mostly from USDOE. check the ISGS website for details.
Natural gological sequetstration occurs when base rich rocks are weathered and alkaline and alkaline earth carbonates are produced. When these are deposited onshore they may be reweathered. More secure sequestration occurs when the weathering products are eroded and transported offshore, as in the Bay of Bengal alluvial megafan.

We perform experimental simulations dedicated to the study of CO2 sequestration, both under supercritical and dissolved forms. Please visit our web site and look at publications related to our topic. Regards
CCS is a vast subject. I advise you to read first the documents displayed by the IEA GHG group (www.ieaghg.org), especially the technical documents if you still have not documented on the technique. It's a really good start to discover it in its global context. Then, read the several articles proposed in the answers of your questions. You could also go to my Researchgate page and fing my Ph.D where you'll find numerous citations in the bibliography which could help you to discover the main geological issues of the technique.
I am also working on it. I am eager to work on relative permeability studies in saline aquifers. Due to some unavoidable reasons we are not getting access to CAT Scanner. Can you please suggest if i can approach for calculation of saturation over time in core flooding experiments without using CAT scanner.
do you have acces to a X-ray coreflood device ? The type used in SCAL especially for Kr USS experiments ? If not, it is still possible to perform some modelling of your experiments, but with more uncertainties. indeed, as data you will only have DP and fluid productions. You will have to consider one homogeneous permeability and a saturation calculated by the numerical model. Which sort of core do you expect to use ? Model or field core ? If model, which one ?
S.Renard : Sir we do not have access to X ray. We are planning to go for core flooding for Kr determination. I will work on both numerical simulation and field core. Can you please suggest me ways of calculating saturation of brine and CO2 analytically?
You should look at this article below and its bibliography, which could help youto see how to proceed. The best remains in using a fluid flows simulator in porous media to manage this work.
See the article below for a discussion of relative permeability experiments and in particular the errors that are commonly made in CO2/brine laboratory rel perm experimental measurements. Also be sure to see the discussion in the SI. I'd recommend Honarpour's manuscript (contained in the references) for details on various core flood experimental designs.
