we have used WTMM based spectra of singularity as a method to independently evaluate the results of "functional streamflow disaggregation" (FSD). I'm also interested in reconstructing a 'singular' runoff component from total flow by means of multifractal analysis (MFA). To consider time dependency, I have written a code that provides evolutionary spectra of singularity ("spectrograms of singularity") and have used this as a diagnostic tool as well. Part of all that is in a rather exploratory state as yet, which I'm willing to upgrade soon, specifically in view of a potential FSD generalization to include the full signal chain rainfall >> runoff >> sediment. Concerning FSD (and MFA in this context), please have a look at the featured publications of my RG account (two-part paper in Water Resources Research, 2008).
