For my undergraduate thesis, I am synthesizing PVA hydrogels with reinforcements. In my previous syntheses, I have been using only technical grade of PVA and these have not been successful. I am planning to purchase a USP grade PVA since AR (fully hydrolyzed) takes too long to purchase here in the Philippines and I only have one month to synthesize the hydrogels. Would the USP grade be effective to synthesize the hydrogels? Thank you for your insights.

I think in one of your previous question, you have been answered for similar question, and if I remember well it was said that the degree of hydrolysis should be closed to 98-99%.
My suggestion is that instead for waiting for the arrival of the purshased PVAl why not traying to increase the hydrolysis degree of the availavle grade at the laboratory. This is a very simple task, and I am sure that you will find many practical procedures for that. Regards
