We are measuring mice blood glucose level using glucose meter for human, we sample the blood via tail nicking, sometimes the yellowish, translucent fluid comes out (Interstitial fluid) and its reading on the glucometer is much higher than that of the whole blood. This makes me wondering if it mix with the whole blood from the tail nicking, will it substantially affect the supposed blood glucose level reading on the meter?
