To be honest with you, it is not quite easy to find postdoc. position. What I would suggest is to look for different labs that you have a similar research interest. If you are interested to come to Copenhagen there are some labs that are looking for postdoctoral fellow. Go to http://www.bric.ku.dk/jobs/

I agree with Omid. A lot of US research facilities will not even allow volunteer to work in the lab.

First, it is a good idea to ask this here - maybe one or the other lab head can offer you the lab envirnonment and training you want and will contact you directly. There are often fellowships from the guest country, like traveling, housing whatsoever even for short internships. It may be also good to apply for postdoctoral training (like 2-3 years), so the lab expects you to pay you or to organize some fellowship. Some labs may have like 500 applicants from Harvard or similar with best grades and stipends, but also can only accept one postdoc per year - and sometimes just pick the one from far away, not necessarily less dedicated to science. I met so many postdocs and PhD students in famous labs, who did not know why they have been choosen. So you may just pick out a number of labs, perhaps also in the USA, or EU to apply for. Go to web pages of universities of your interests.. go to JOBs tab > studenthips or post-doc positions.. In my opinion this is the best way.. below you have an example from University of Nottingham, UK.. remember about DAAD studentships that you can apply from Poland.. good luck!

I thought the DAAD ("German" Academic Exchange Service) supports studies somehow related to "Germany" - am I wrong? How would this apply for a student from Poland to go to the UK and getting financing from the DAAD - without Germany involved? I once supported a pre-diploma physics student from Germany who wanted to join my lab, at that time at the Univ. of Miami, i.e. USA; so we managed to get everything done to have apply her at the DAAD in very short time, I managed to write all the confirming letters and the OK from the university that she can get the expected training from me, so she finally got the flight costs for her training as a physics student for about six weeks. Later she came for probably a year to join the department for her diploma work fully accepted in Germany.

Thanks guys for some advice. Right now I send some e-mails to teams leaders and fingers crossed that's somebody replies. I am more interested in volunteer lab work, because I don't have experience in cancer research. That's why I don;t apply for postdoc yet, especially I am waiting for my final exam and I am writing papers.
