From time to time one can read that interfacial tension measurements are conducted to measure the influence of particles at the interface.

In my understanding interfacial tension always relates to interface between 2 phases. Though the measured 'apparent' interfacial tension between two fluid phases may change due to presence of particles this really is not an interfacial tension just a value obtained. This situation is merely different from adsorbed molecules. Would you agree?
